THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1. Section 1.080 of the charter of the City of North Las Vegas,1-2
being chapter 573, Statutes of Nevada 1971, at page 1211, is hereby1-3
amended to read as follows:1-4
Sec. 1.080 Appointment of officers; city manager’s director.1-5

officers, not elected or covered under the civil service system,1-7

by the city council.1-9
2. All departments, offices and agencies under the direction and1-10
supervision of the city manager1-11
officer subject to the direction and supervision of the city manager.1-12
With the consent of the city council, the city manager may serve as1-13
the head of two or more departments, offices or agencies or may1-14
appoint one person to be head of two or more departments, offices1-15
or agencies.1-16
3. All appointive officers of the city1-17
receive such salary as may be designated by the city council.2-1
4. The city council may require from all other officers and2-2
employees of the city constituted or appointed under this charter,2-3
except councilmen, sufficient security for the faithful and honest2-4
performance of their respective duties.2-5
Sec. 2. Section 3.050 of the charter of the City of North Las Vegas,2-6
being chapter 573, Statutes of Nevada 1971, at page 1221, is hereby2-7
amended to read as follows:2-8
Sec. 3.050 City attorney:2-9
Appointment; salary; qualifications; duties; removal.2-10
1. The city council shall appoint a city attorney and fix his2-11
salary.2-12
2. The city attorney2-13
the State Bar of Nevada.2-14

the city and shall perform such duties as may be designated by the2-16
city council or prescribed by ordinance.2-17
4. The city attorney is under the general direction and2-18
supervision of the city council.2-19
5. The city attorney serves at the pleasure of the city council2-20
and may be removed by an affirmative vote of a majority of the2-21
entire membership of the city council at any time.~
