1-1 Section 1. 1. There is hereby appropriated from the state general

1-2 fund:

1-3 (a) The sum of $290,144 to the Division of Parole and Probation; and

1-4 (b) The sum of $65,278 to the Investigation Division,

1-5 of the Department of Motor Vehicles and Public Safety for the Phase II

1-6 costs of the VHF Highband Radio Project.

1-7 2. Any remaining balance of the appropriation made by subsection 1

1-8 must not be committed for expenditure after June 30, 2001, and reverts to

1-9 the state general fund as soon as all payments of money committed have

1-10 been made.

1-11 Sec. 2. 1. There is hereby appropriated from the state highway fund:

1-12 (a) The sum of $9,823,840 to the Nevada Highway Patrol Division; and

1-13 (b) The sum of $40,220 to the Registration Division,

2-1 of the Department of Motor Vehicles and Public Safety for the Phase II

2-2 costs of the VHF Highband Radio Project.

2-3 2. Any remaining balance of the appropriation made by subsection 1

2-4 must not be committed for expenditure after June 30, 2001, and reverts to

2-5 the state highway fund as soon as all payments of money committed have

2-6 been made.

2-7 Sec. 3. 1. There is hereby appropriated from the state highway fund

2-8 to the Department of Transportation the sum of $4,332,250 for the costs to

2-9 complete the development and installation of the 800 MHz radio

2-10 communication system.

2-11 2. Any remaining balance of the appropriation made by subsection 1

2-12 must not be committed for expenditure after June 30, 2003, and reverts to

2-13 the state highway fund as soon as all payments of money committed have

2-14 been made.

2-15 Sec. 4. This act becomes effective upon passage and approval.
