AN ACT making an appropriation to the Welfare Division of the Department of Human Resources for expenses related to the NOMADS Project; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

1-1 Section 1. There is hereby appropriated from the state general fund to

1-2 the Welfare Division of the Department of Human Resources the sum of

1-3 $9,013,548 for expenses related to the NOMADS Project, including:

1-4 1. Anticipated penalties to be imposed by the Federal Government for

1-5 not complying with requirements for certification relating to child support;

1-6 2. The payment of bonuses to employees who are required for the

1-7 NOMADS Project; and

1-8 3. Any additional expenses related to the operation of the NOMADS

1-9 Project.

1-10 Sec. 2. Any remaining balance of the appropriation made by section 1

1-11 of this act must not be committed for expenditure after June 30, 2001, and

1-12 reverts to the state general fund as soon as all payments of money

1-13 committed have been made.

1-14 Sec. 3. This act becomes effective upon passage and approval.
