AN ACT making an appropriation to the Department of Transportation to conduct a feasibility study of improving access highways in adjoining states; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

1-1 Section 1. 1. There is hereby appropriated from the state general

1-2 fund to the Department of Transportation the sum of $250,000 to conduct a

1-3 feasibility study of improving roads and highways in adjoining states that

1-4 provide access into this state.

1-5 2. The study must include a review of the manner in which such

1-6 highways are constructed, improved and maintained.

1-7 3. The money appropriated by subsection 1 may be used only if

1-8 matching money is provided by Clark County or from sources other than

1-9 the appropriation made by subsection 1.

1-10 4. The State Controller shall not distribute any money from the

1-11 appropriation made pursuant to subsection 1 until the matching money

1-12 required by subsection 3 has been committed.

1-13 Sec. 2. Any remaining balance of the appropriation made by section 1

1-14 of this act must not be committed for expenditure after June 30, 2001, and

1-15 reverts to the state general fund as soon as the payments of money

1-16 committed have been made.

2-1 Sec. 3. This act becomes effective on July 1, 1999.
