AN ACT relating to state contracts; requiring the state board of examiners to approve a contract with more than one airline to provide transportation services to state

officers and employees under certain circumstances; and providing other matters

properly relating thereto.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN

SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

1-1 Section 1. Chapter 281 of NRS is hereby amended by adding thereto a

1-2 new section to read as follows:

1-3 If the state board of examiners approves a contract with an airline to

1-4 provide transportation services for state officers and employees, it shall

1-5 approve at least one additional contract with another airline to provide

1-6 those services if:

1-7 1. The transportation services are available from more than one

1-8 airline; and

1-9 2. The cost charged to the state under the additional contract or

1-10 contracts is comparable to the cost charged to the state under the

1-11 contract that was first approved.

1-12 Sec. 2. This act becomes effective upon passage and approval.
