AN ACT relating to the state board of nursing; prohibiting the board from publishing or releasing the address or telephone number of the residence of a licensee or holder of a certificate under certain circumstances; authorizing the board to publish or release the address and telephone number of the place of practice of a licensee or holder of a certificate; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

1-1 Section 1. NRS 632.100 is hereby amended to read as follows:

1-2 632.100 1. The board shall make and keep a full and complete record

1-3 of all its proceedings, including a file of all applications for licenses and

1-4 certificates under this chapter, together with the action of the board upon

1-5 each application, and including a register of all nurses licensed and all

1-6 nursing assistants certified in this state.

1-7 2. The board shall maintain in its main office a public docket or other

1-8 record in which it shall record, from time to time as made, the rulings or

1-9 decisions upon all complaints filed with it, and all investigations instituted

1-10 by it in the first instance, upon or in connection with which any hearing has

1-11 been had, or in which the licensee or holder of a certificate charged has

1-12 made no defense.

1-13 3. At least semiannually, the board shall publish a list of the names and

1-14 addresses of the place of practice of:

1-15 (a) All persons licensed or certified by it under the provisions of this chapter [, and of all] ; and

2-1 (b) All applicants, licensees and holders of certificates whose licenses or

2-2 certificates have been refused, suspended or revoked within 1 year,

2-3 together with such other information relative to the enforcement of the

2-4 provisions of this chapter as it may deem of interest to the public.

2-5 4. Unless required by an order of a court of competent jurisdiction,

the board shall not publish or release to any person the address or

2-6 telephone number of the residence of a licensee or holder of a certificate.

5. The board may publish or release to any person the telephone

2-7 number of the place of practice of a licensee or holder of a certificate.
