SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION—Designating February 22, 1999, as "Boulder
City Day" at the Nevada Legislature.

Whereas, The Boulder Canyon Project and the construction of the1-2
Hoover Dam was the most significant American public works project of1-3
this century; and1-4
Whereas, Boulder City was the town created to house over 4,0001-5
workers who built Hoover Dam; and1-6
Whereas, Boulder City appears on the National Register as a historic1-7
place worthy of recognition and preservation for its significant1-8
contribution to the State of Nevada and our Nation’s heritage; and1-9
Whereas, The unique inception of Boulder City is still reflected today1-10
through its controlled growth policy and commitment to enhancing the1-11
quality of life of its residents; and1-12
Whereas, The dedication of the residents of Boulder City to the best1-13
interests of the State of Nevada is evidenced by their participation in1-14
governmental issues and is reflected by a high voter turnout at elections;1-15
now, therefore, be it1-16
Resolved by the Senate of the State of Nevada, the Assembly1-17
Concurring, That February 22, 1999, is hereby designated as "Boulder1-18
City Day" at the Nevada Legislature to commemorate the contributions of2-1
the pioneers of Boulder City in the construction of the Hoover Dam and2-2
for the continuing dedication of its residents to the State of Nevada; and be2-3
it further2-4
Resolved, That the Secretary of the Senate prepare and transmit a2-5
copy of this resolution to Robert Ferraro, Mayor of Boulder City.~
