SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTIONCongratulating the Douglas High School’s girls’

cross country team for winning the state "AAAA" championship in 1998.

1-1 Whereas, The Douglas High School’s girls’ cross country team won

1-2 the Northern Nevada Zone Tournament in the "AAAA" league in the fall of

1-3 1998; and

1-4 Whereas, In a subsequent tournament in Southern Nevada, the Douglas

1-5 High School’s Girls’ cross country team defeated the Indian Springs High

1-6 School cross country team and became the "AAAA" 1998 Nevada State

1-7 Champions; and

1-8 Whereas, The "Tigers," under the inspired guidance of Coach Ellen

1-9 Lucas, included team members Annie Gastelum, Kathleen McSweeney,

1-10 Kelly Mogab, Rebecca Pope, Jenny Smokey, Christine Timmons and

1-11 Jenelle Timmons; now, therefore, be it

2-1 Resolved by the Senate of the State of Nevada, the Assembly

2-2 Concurring, That the members of the 70th session of the Nevada

2-3 Legislature do hereby extend their congratulations to Douglas High

2-4 School’s girls’ cross country team upon winning the 1998 state "AAAA"

2-5 championship; and be it further

2-6 Resolved, That the Secretary of the Senate prepare and transmit a copy

2-7 of this resolution to Ms. Beverle Jeans, Principal of Douglas High School,

2-8 and Coach Ellen Lucas.
