SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION—Proposing to amend the Constitution of the State of
Nevada to extend the terms of office for the members of the Assembly and Senate.

Resolved by the Senate and Assembly of the State of Nevada,1-2
Jointly, That sections 3 and 4 of article 4 of the Constitution of the State1-3
of Nevada be amended to read as follows: Sec. 3. 1.1-5
biennially by the qualified electors of their respective districts, on the1-6
Tuesday next after the first Monday in November and their term of office1-7
shall be1-8
2. No person may be elected or appointed as a member of the1-9
Assembly who has served in that office, or at the expiration of his current1-10
term if he is so serving will have served, 12 years or more, from any1-11
district of this state. Sec. 4. 1. Senators shall be chosen at the same time and places as1-13
members of the Assembly by the qualified electors of their respective1-14
districts, and their term of Office shall be1-15
after their election.1-16
2. No person may be elected or appointed as a Senator who has served1-17
in that office, or at the expiration of his current term if he is so serving will1-18
have served, 12 years or more, from any district of this state.1-19

Resolved, That section 10 of article 17 of the Constitution of the State2-2
of Nevada be amended to read as follows: Sec .2-4
Sixty Six;2-5
from the day succeeding such general election, and members of Assembly2-6
for Two Years from the day succeeding such general election, and the2-7
terms of Senators shall be allotted by the Legislature in long and short2-8
terms as hereinbefore provided; so that one half the number as nearly as2-9
may be, shall be elected every Two Years.~
