The Senate Committee on Commerce and Laborwas called to order by Chairman Randolph J. Townsend, at 3:00 p.m., on Monday, May 28, 2001, on the Senate Floor of the Legislative Building, Carson City, Nevada. There was no Agenda. There was no Attendance Roster.

Senator Townsend opened the hearing to discuss an upcoming vote on Amendment No. 1117 to A.B. 349.

 

ASSEMBLY BILL 349:  Establishes universal energy charge to fund low-income energy assistance and conservation. (BDR 58-1264)

 

Senator Townsend directed the committee’s attention to an amendment, which had been offered by Senator Titus. He stated Amendment No. 1117 would undo the recently adopted amendment to A.B. 349, to which they had agreed in the Senate Committee on Commerce and Labor.

 

There was a brief discussion regarding whether Amendment No. 1117 would reverse the decision they had made in committee.

 

Senator Townsend restated he had asked the committee to convene so he would be certain they were all aware of the new proposed amendment and its significance.

Senator Townsend adjourned the meeting at 3:02 p.m.
