The Senate Committee on Government Affairswas called to order by Chairman Ann O'Connell, at 11:21 a.m., on Monday, March 26, 2001, on the Senate Floor of the Legislative Building, Carson City, Nevada.  There was no Agenda.  There was no Attendance Roster.

BILL DRAFT REQUEST 31-392:  Makes various changes concerning division of internal audits of department of administration.  (Later introduced as Senate Bill 561.)

 

            SENATOR RAGGIO MOVED TO INTRODUCE BDR 32-893 and BDR 31-            392.

BILL DRAFT REQUEST 30-417:  Makes various changes to procedures for borrowing by local governments.  (Later introduced as Senate Bill 559.)

 

BILL DRAFT REQUEST 28-559:  Makes various changes to provisions relating to employment practices and prevailing wages for public works.  (Later introduced as Senate Bill 560.)

 

BILL DRAFT REQUEST 24-608:  Makes various changes relating to elections.  (Later introduced as Senate Bill 565.)

 

BILL DRAFT REQUEST 21-617:  Revises provisions regarding programs of annexation.  (Later introduced as Senate Bill 567.)

 

BILL DRAFT REQUEST 20-1334:  Makes various changes relating to telecommunications.  (Later introduced as Senate Bill 563.)

 

BILL DRAFT REQUEST 18-1446:  Transfers office of science, engineering and technology within University and Community College System of Nevada to office of governor.  (Later introduced as Senate Bill 562.)

 

BILL DRAFT REQUEST 27-1447:  Allows risk management division of department of administration and attorney general to assess local governments for certain tort claims.  (Later introduced as Senate Bill 568.)

 

BILL DRAFT REQUEST S-1478:  Requires release of certain liens created by former state industrial insurance system.  (Later introduced as Senate Bill 566.)

 

BILL DRAFT REQUEST 52-1480:  Strengthens protection of patents and trade secrets.  (Later introduced as Senate Bill 558.)

 

BILL DRAFT REQUEST R-1494:  Urges Commission on Tourism and Commission on Economic Development to promote Nevada as state where choice in health care is available.  (Later introduced as Senate Concurrent Resolution 24.)

 

BILL DRAFT REQUEST 23-793:  Prohibits reprisal or retaliatory action against officer or employee of local government who discloses improper governmental action.  (Later introduced as Senate Bill 556.)
