The Senate Committee on Human Resources and Facilitieswas called to order by Chairman Raymond D. Rawson, at 3:05 p.m., on Monday, May 28, 2001, on the Senate Floor of the Legislative Building, Carson City, Nevada.  There was no Agenda.   There was no Attendance Roster.

Chairman Rawson informed the committee of the Assembly Amendment       No. 970 to Senate Bill (S.B.) 377.

 

SENATE BILL 377:  Revises provisions governing payment of hospitals for treating disproportionate share of Medicaid patients, indigent patients or other low-income patients. (BDR 38-316)

 

Chairman Rawson called for a motion to concur or not concur.

 

SENATOR  TOWNSEND MOVED TO NOT CONCUR WITH AMENDMENT NO. 970 TO S.B. 377.

 

SENATOR MATHEWS SECONDED THE MOTION.

 

THE MOTION CARRIED.  (SENATORS WASHINGTON AND AMODEI WERE ABSENT FOR THE VOTE.)

Chairman Rawson informed the committee the Assembly declined to concur on Assembly Bill  (A.B.) 195.

 

ASSEMBLY BILL 195:  Revises provisions relating to Nevada silver haired legislative forum. (BDR 38-534)

 

Chairman Rawson read the Senate Amendment No. 848 to A.B. 195.

 

SENATOR TOWNSEND MOVED TO NOT RECEDE FROM AMENDMENT NO. 848 TO A.B. 195.

 

SENATOR WIENER SECONDED THE MOTION.

Chairman Rawson informed the committee of the Assembly Amendment No. 973 to Senate Bill (S.B.) 127.

 

SENATE BILL 127:  Authorizes Elko County School District to continue demonstration project in lieu of complying with class-size reduction program. (BDR S-172)

 

Chairman Rawson called for a motion to concur or not concur.

 

SENATOR TOWNSEND MOVED TO NOT CONCUR WITH AMENDMENT NO. 973 TO S.B. 127.
