The Senate Committee on Legislative Affairs and Operationswas called to order by Chairman Jon C. Porter, at 12:20 p.m., on Thursday, May 31, 2001, on the Senate Floor of the Legislative Building, Carson City, Nevada.  There was no Agenda.  There was no Attendance Roster.

Senator Porter explained that Assembly Joint Resolution (A.J.R.) 9 should have been assigned to the Senate Committee on Government Affairs.

 

ASSEMBLY JOINT RESOLUTION 9:  Urges Congress to repeal provision of federal law requiring state to record social security number of citizen on application for driver’s license for state to receive certain federal funding.  (BDR R-1290)

 

SENATOR WIENER MOVED TO RE-REFER A.J.R 9 TO THE SENATE COMMITTEE ON GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS.

 

SENATOR JAMES SECONDED THE MOTION.

 

THE MOTION CARRIED.  (SENATORS RAGGIO AND RAWSON WERE ABSENT FOR THE VOTE.)
