The Senate Committee on Legislative Affairs and Operationswas called to order by Chairman Jon C. Porter, at 12:05 p.m. on Monday, June 4, 2001, on the Senate Floor of the Legislative Building, Carson City, Nevada.  There was no Agenda.  There was no Attendance Roster.

Senator Ann O’Connell, Clark County Senatorial District No. 5

 

Senator Porter explained Assembly Bill (A.B.) 381 was for an interim study to develop and recommend proposed enabling legislation for the creation of incorporated towns.

 

ASSEMBLY BILL 381:  Makes various changes regarding cities and towns.  (BDR 21-67)

 

Senator Ann O’Connell, Clark County Senatorial District No. 5, said A.B. 381 is a very important study and the Assembly members had spent long hard hours working out the language.  She said the smaller counties need A.B. 381 to resolve some of the township incorporation issues that they are having.

 

SENATOR WIENER MOVED TO DO PASS A.B. 381.

 

SENATOR MATHEWS SECONDED THE MOTION.

 

THE MOTION CARRIED.  (SENATOR RAWSON WAS ABSENT FOR THE VOTE.)
