The Senate Committee on Natural Resourceswas called to order by Chairman Dean A. Rhoads, at 2:00 p.m., on Monday, May 21, 2001, in Room 2144 of the Legislative Building, Carson City, Nevada.  Exhibit A is the Agenda.  Exhibit B is the Attendance Roster.  All exhibits are available and on file at the Research Library of the Legislative Counsel Bureau.

Chairman Rhoads opened the work session on Assembly Bill (A.B.) 469.

 

ASSEMBLY BILL 469:  Makes various changes relating to safe use of watercraft. (BDR 43-462)

 

Chairman Rhoads said he wanted to offer an amendment not previously considered by the committee.  He said the proposed amendment would read so that A.B. 469 would only affect interstate waters within Nevada.  He explained these would include Lake Mead, Lake Tahoe, and Topaz Lake. 

 

            SENATOR JACOBSEN MOVED TO AMEND AND DO PASS A.B. 469.

 

            SENATOR SHAFFER SECONDED THE MOTION.

            THE MOTION CARRIED.  (SENATOR JAMES VOTED NO.  SENATOR             CARLTON WAS ABSENT FOR THE VOTE.)

As there was no further business, Chairman Rhoads adjourned the work session at 2:03 p.m.
