AN ACT making a contingent appropriation to the Brewery Arts Center for the
purchase of property for the development of a cultural center and plaza in the
Carson City historic district; and providing other matters properly relating
thereto.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN
SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
1-1 Section
1. 1. There is hereby appropriated from the state
general
1-2 fund to the Brewery Arts Center the sum of $750,000
for the purchase of
1-3 historic properties in Carson City for the
development of a cultural center
1-4 and plaza in the Carson City historic district.
1-5 2. The Brewery Arts Center may use the money
appropriated
by subsection 1 only if $1,500,000 is raised by the Brewery Arts Center
for this project from sources other than the appropriation made by
1-6 subsection 1.
1-7 3. The State Controller shall not distribute any
money from the
1-8 appropriation made pursuant to subsection 1 until
the Brewery Arts Center
1-9 has submitted proof satisfactory that the matching
money required by
1-10 subsection 2 has been committed.
1-11 4. Any remaining balance of the appropriation
made by subsection 1,
1-12 must not be committed for expenditure after June 30,
2003, and reverts to
1-13 the state general fund as soon as all payments of
money committed have
1-14 been made.
1-15 Sec. 2. This
act becomes effective upon passage and approval.
