AN ACT making an appropriation for costs relating to the coordination of efforts to attract biotechnological companies to this state; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN

SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

 

1-1    Section 1. There is hereby appropriated from the state general fund to

1-2  the Division of Economic Development in the Commission on Economic

1-3  Development for costs relating to the coordination of efforts to attract

1-4  biotechnological companies to this state, for costs relating to the

1-5  establishment and maintenance of a clearinghouse for information

1-6  regarding biotechnological businesses in this state, and for costs relating to

1-7  the preparation of grant proposals for obtaining money for biotechnological

1-8  development:

1-9  For the fiscal year 2001-2002.............. $100,000

1-10  For the fiscal year 2002-2003............. $100,000

1-11    Sec. 2.  The sums appropriated by section 1 of this act are available for

1-12  either fiscal year. Any balance of those sums must not be committed for


2-1  expenditure after June 30, 2003, and reverts to the state general fund as

2-2  soon as all payments of money committed have been made.

2-3    Sec. 3.  This act becomes effective upon passage and approval.
