AN ACT relating to elections; revising the definition of a committee for political action; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN

SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

 

1-1    Section 1. NRS 294A.0055 is hereby amended to read as follows:

1-2    294A.0055  “Committee for political action” means [an organization

1-3  which receives contributions, makes] any organization that:

1-4    1.  Receives contributions totaling more than $1,000 in a calendar

1-5  year;

1-6    2.  Makes contributions to candidates or other persons totaling more

1-7  than $1,000 in a calendar year; or [makes]

1-8    3.  Makes expenditures totaling more than $1,000 in a calendar
year,

1-9  which are designed to affect the outcome of any primary, general or

1-10  special election or question on the ballot. The term does not include a

1-11  committee for the recall of a public officer.
