AN ACT relating to industrial insurance; repealing the provisions that limit the liability of an insurer or third-party administrator for certain violations relating to industrial insurance; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN

SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

 

1-1    Section 1. NRS 616D.030 is hereby repealed.

1-2    Sec. 2.  This act becomes effective on July 1, 2001.

 

 

1-3  TEXT OF REPEALED SECTION

 

 

1-4    616D.030  Limitation of liability of insurer or third-party

1-5   administrator; administrative fines are exclusive remedies.

1-6    1.  No cause of action may be brought or maintained against an insurer

1-7   or a third-party administrator who violates any provision of this chapter or

1-8   chapter 616A, 616B, 616C or 617 of NRS.

1-9    2.  The administrative fines provided for in NRS 616B.318 and

1-10   616D.120 are the exclusive remedies for any violation of this chapter or

1-11   chapter 616A, 616B, 616C or 617 of NRS committed by an insurer or a

1-12   third-party administrator.
