AN ACT making an appropriation to the Alzheimer’s Association - Southern Nevada Chapter for implementation of the Safe Return Program; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN

SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

 

1-1    Section 1. There is hereby appropriated from the state general fund to

1-2  the Alzheimer’s Association - Southern Nevada Chapter for expenses

1-3  relating to the provision of temporary respite care and for training in and

1-4  operation of the Safe Return Program, a nationwide program that assists in

1-5  the identification and safe, timely return of persons with Alzheimer’s

1-6  disease and related dementias:

1-7  For the fiscal year 2001-2002.............. $171,000

1-8  For the fiscal year 2002-2003.............. $171,000

1-9    Sec. 2.  The sums appropriated by section 1 of this act are available for

1-10  either fiscal year. Any balance of those sums must not be committed for

1-11  expenditure after June 30, 2003, and reverts to the state general fund as

1-12  soon as all payments of money committed have been made.

1-13    Sec. 3.  This act becomes effective upon passage and approval.
