AN ACT relating to the Virgin Valley Water District; revising the term of office of the appointed members of the governing board of the Virgin Valley Water District; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN

SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

 

1-1    Section 1.  Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection 2 of section 5

1-2  of chapter 100, Statutes of Nevada 1993, at page 163, as amended by

1-3  chapter 266, Statutes of Nevada 1995, at page 444, the term of office of the

1-4  member appointed to the governing board of the Virgin Valley Water

1-5  District by:

1-6    1.  The governing body of the town of Bunkerville immediately

1-7  following the term of office that expires on December 31, 2002, is 1 year;

1-8  and

1-9    2.  The mayor of the City of Mesquite immediately following the term

1-10  of office that expires on December 31, 2002, is 3 years.

1-11    Sec. 2.  This act becomes effective on July 1, 2001.
