AN ACT making an appropriation to Carson City for the creation of a team of personnel to serve as a central clearinghouse for mental health assessments and the coordination of services for the mentally ill; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN

SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

 

1-1    Section 1. 1.  There is hereby appropriated from the state general

1-2  fund to Carson City for the creation of a team of personnel to serve as a

1-3  central clearinghouse for mental health assessments and the coordination of

1-4  services for the mentally ill:

1-5  For the fiscal year 2001-2002.............. $370,000

1-6  For the fiscal year 2002-2003.............. $130,000

1-7    2.  The sums appropriated by subsection 1 are available for either fiscal

1-8  year. Any balance of those sums must not be committed for expenditure

1-9  after June 30, 2003, and reverts to the state general fund as soon as all

1-10  payments of money committed have been made.

1-11    3.  Carson City shall:

1-12    (a) Establish and maintain records concerning the use of the money

1-13  appropriated by subsection 1 which conform to generally accepted

1-14  accounting practices; and

1-15    (b) Provide a written report to the Director of the Legislative Counsel

1-16  Bureau for transmission to the Legislative Commission on or before

1-17  January 1, 2003, which clearly describes the expenditures made from the

1-18  money appropriated by subsection 1 and their benefit to the state.

 

2-1    Sec. 2.  This act becomes effective upon passage and approval.
