AN ACT making appropriations for support of the Southern and Northern Nevada Writing Projects and for support of nonprofit service agencies in Clark County that offer homeless prevention assistance; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN
SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
1-1 Section 1. 1. There is hereby appropriated from the state general
1-2 fund to the University and Community College System of Nevada the sum
1-3 of $200,000 for the Southern Nevada Writing Project and the Northern
1-4 Nevada Writing Project.
1-5 2. The money appropriated by subsection 1 must be allocated equally
1-6 between the Southern Nevada Writing Project and the Northern Nevada
1-7 Writing Project for deposit in separate accounts for each project.
1-8 3. Disbursements from these accounts to pay the expenses of the
1-9 projects must be made by the Board of Regents of the University of
1-10 Nevada upon the request of the administrator of the respective project.
1-11 4. Any remaining balance of the appropriation made by subsection 1
1-12 must not be committed for expenditure after June 30, 2003, and reverts to
2-1 the state general fund as soon as all payments of money committed have
2-2 been made.
2-3 Sec. 2. 1. There is hereby appropriated from the state general fund
2-4 to the Community Resources Management Division of the Clark County
2-5 Department of Finance the sum of $200,000 for support of nonprofit
2-6 service agencies in Clark County that offer homeless prevention assistance.
2-7 2. Any remaining balance of the appropriation made by subsection 1
2-8 must not be committed for expenditure after June 30, 2003, and reverts to
2-9 the state general fund as soon as all payments of money committed have
2-10 been made.
2-11 Sec. 3. This act becomes effective upon passage and approval.
