AN ACT relating to occupational safety; providing for the establishment of a voluntary protection program for occupational safety and health; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN

SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

 

1-1    Section 1. Chapter 618 of NRS is hereby amended by adding thereto a

1-2  new section to read as follows:

1-3    The division shall:

1-4    1.  Adopt regulations for the establishment and administration in this

1-5  state of a program for occupational safety and health modeled after the

1-6  federal voluntary protection program;

1-7    2.  Submit the regulations to the federal Occupational Safety and

1-8  Health Administration for its approval; and

1-9    3.  Upon receipt of that approval, carry out the regulations.

1-10    Sec. 2.  This act becomes effective on July 1, 2001.

 

1-11  H
