AN ACT making an appropriation to the City of Las Vegas for the enhancement and implementation of a hydrogen reformer, fuel cell generator and hydrogen vehicle refueling system to provide improved air quality and public health; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN
SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
1-1 Section 1. 1. There is hereby appropriated from the state general
1-2 fund to the City of Las Vegas for the enhancement and implementation of a
1-3 demonstration hydrogen reformer, fuel cell generator and hydrogen vehicle
1-4 refueling system to provide improved air quality and public health:
1-5 For the fiscal year 2001-2002 $400,000
1-6 For the fiscal year 2002-2003 $400,000
2-1 2. The sums appropriated by subsection 1 are available for either fiscal
2-2 year. Any balance of those sums must not be committed for expenditure
2-3 after June 30, 2003, and reverts to the state general fund as soon as all
2-4 payments of money committed have been made.
2-5 3. The City of Las Vegas shall:
2-6 (a) Establish and maintain records concerning the use of the money
2-7 appropriated by subsection 1 which conform to generally accepted
2-8 accounting practices; and
2-9 (b) Provide a written report to the Director of the Legislative Counsel
2-10 Bureau for transmission to the Legislative Commission on or before
2-11 January 1, 2003, which clearly describes the expenditures made from the
2-12 money appropriated by subsection 1 and their benefit to the state.
2-13 Sec. 2. This act becomes effective upon passage and approval.
