AN ACT making an appropriation to the Department of Administration for the support of amateur athletics and recreational programs in the City of Las Vegas; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN
SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
1-1 Section 1. 1. There is hereby appropriated from the state general
1-2 fund to the Department of Administration the sum of $100,000 for
1-3 allocation to the City of Las Vegas.
1-4 2. The money appropriated by subsection 1 must be allocated by the
1-5 City of Las Vegas to the “Hen Hen Dog Catchers” to support amateur
1-6 athletics and recreational programs in the City of Las Vegas.
1-7 3. Any remaining balance of the appropriation made by subsection 1
1-8 must not be committed for expenditure after June 30, 2003, and reverts to
1-9 the state general fund as soon as all payments of money committed have
1-10 been made.
1-11 4. The City of Las Vegas shall:
1-12 (a) Establish and maintain records concerning the use of the money
1-13 appropriated by subsection 1 which conform to generally accepted
1-14 accounting practices; and
1-15 (b) Provide a written report to the director of the Legislative Counsel
1-16 Bureau for transmission to the Legislative Commission on or before
1-17 January 1, 2003, which clearly describes the expenditures made from the
1-18 money appropriated by subsection 1 and their benefit to the state.
1-19 Sec. 2. This act becomes effective upon passage and approval.
