AN ACT relating to traffic laws; requiring certain motor vehicles to drive in the extreme right-hand lane; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN
SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
1-1 Section 1. NRS 484.373 is hereby amended to read as follows:
1-2 484.373 1. If any driver drives a motor vehicle at a speed so slow as
1-3 to impede the forward movement of traffic proceeding immediately behind
1-4 him, the driver shall:
1-5 (a) If the highway has one lane for traveling in each direction and the
1-6 width of the paved portion permits, drive to the extreme right side of the
1-7 highway;
1-8 (b) If the highway has two or more clearly marked lanes for traffic
1-9 traveling in his direction, drive in the extreme right-hand lane except when
1-10 necessary to pass other slowly moving vehicles[;] or when preparing to
1-11 make a left turn; or
1-12 (c) If the highway is a controlled-access highway, use alternate routes
1-13 whenever possible.
1-14 2. In addition to the requirements of subsection 1 and regardless of
1-15 the speed of his vehicle, a driver of a motor vehicle with a declared gross
1-16 weight in excess of 26,000 pounds shall, if the highway has two or more
1-17 clearly marked lanes for traffic traveling in his direction, drive in the
1-18 extreme right-hand lane except when necessary to pass other motor
1-19 vehicles that are moving slowly or when preparing to make a left turn.
2-1 3. A person shall not bring a vehicle to a complete stop upon a
2-2 roadway so as to impede or block the normal and reasonable movement of
2-3 traffic unless the stop is necessary for safe operation or in compliance with
2-4 law.
