AN ACT making an appropriation to the Department of Administration for distribution of a grant of money to the Governor’s Advisory Council on Education Relating to the Holocaust for carrying out the duties of the Council and continuing its educational programs; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN

SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

 

1-1    Section 1. 1.  There is hereby appropriated from the state general

1-2  fund to the Department of Administration the sum of $75,000 for

1-3  distribution of a grant of money to the Governor’s Advisory Council on

1-4  Education Relating to the Holocaust created by NRS 233G.020 for

1-5  carrying out the duties of the Council and continuing its educational

1-6  programs.

1-7    2.  Upon acceptance of the money appropriated by subsection 1, the

1-8  Governor’s Advisory Council on Education Relating to the Holocaust

1-9  agrees to:

1-10  (a) Prepare and transmit a report to the Interim Finance Committee on

1-11  or before December 15, 2002, that describes each expenditure made from

1-12  the money appropriated by subsection 1 from the date on which the money

1-13  was received by the Council through December 1, 2002; and

1-14  (b) Upon request of the Legislative Commission, make available to the

1-15  Legislative Auditor any books, accounts, claims, reports, vouchers or other

1-16  records of information, confidential or otherwise and irrespective of their

1-17  form or location, that the Legislative Auditor deems necessary to conduct

1-18  any audit of the use of the money appropriated pursuant to subsection 1.


2-1    Sec. 2.  Any remaining balance of the appropriation made by section 1

2-2  of this act must not be committed for expenditure after June 30, 2003, and

2-3  reverts to the state general fund as soon as all payments of money

2-4  committed have been made.

2-5    Sec. 3.  This act becomes effective upon passage and approval.
