AN ACT making an appropriation to the Governor for support of the Nevada Commission for National and Community Service; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN
SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
1-1 Section 1. 1. There is hereby appropriated from the state general
1-2 fund to the Governor the sum of $325,000 to grant to the Nevada
1-3 Commission for National and Community Service for use as matching
1-4 money to obtain additional federal funding to continue its programs
1-5 dedicated to promoting citizen volunteerism.
1-6 2. Upon acceptance of the money appropriated by subsection 1, the
1-7 Nevada Commission for National and Community Service agrees to:
1-8 (a) Prepare and transmit a report to the Interim Finance Committee on
1-9 or before December 15, 2002, that describes each expenditure made from
1-10 the money appropriated by subsection 1 from the date on which the money
1-11 was received by the Nevada Commission for National and Community
1-12 Service through December 1, 2002; and
1-13 (b) Upon request of the Legislative Commission, make available to the
1-14 Legislative Auditor any of the Nevada Commission for National and
1-15 Community Service’s books, accounts, claims, reports, vouchers or other
1-16 records of information, confidential or otherwise and irrespective of their
1-17 form or location, that the Legislative Auditor deems necessary to conduct
1-18 any audit of the use of the money appropriated pursuant to subsection 1.
2-1 Sec. 2. Any remaining balance of the appropriation made by section 1
2-2 of this act must not be committed for expenditure after June 30, 2003, and
2-3 reverts to the state general fund as soon as all payments of money
2-4 committed have been made.
2-5 Sec. 3. This act becomes effective upon passage and approval.
