AN ACT making an appropriation to the Department of Motor Vehicles and Public Safety for the purchase of computers for and ongoing telecommunication costs of the Division of Parole and Probation; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN

SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

 

1-1    Section 1. There is hereby appropriated from the state general fund to

1-2  the Department of Motor Vehicles and Public Safety the sum of $431,046

1-3  for the Division of Parole and Probation to be distributed as follows:

1-4  1.  For computer hardware and software equipment .. $306,748

1-5  2.  For telecommunication costs for fiscal year 2001-2002 .... $62,149

1-6  3.  For telecommunication costs for fiscal year 2002-2003 .... $62,149

1-7    Sec. 2.  1.  Any remaining balance of the appropriation made by

1-8  subsection 1 of section 1 of this act must not be committed for expenditure

1-9  after June 30, 2003, and reverts to the state general fund as soon as all

1-10  payments of money committed have been made.

1-11    2.  Any remaining balance of the appropriation made by subsection 2 of

1-12  section 1 of this act must not be committed for expenditure after June 30,

1-13  2002, and reverts to the state general fund as soon as all payments of

1-14  money committed have been made.

1-15    3.  Any remaining balance of the appropriation made by subsection 3 of

1-16  section 1 of this act must not be committed for expenditure after June 30,

1-17  2003, and reverts to the state general fund as soon as all payments of

1-18  money committed have been made.


2-1    Sec. 3.  1.  This section and subsection 1 of section 1 of this act

2-2  become effective upon passage and approval.

2-3    2.  Subsection 2 of section 1 of this act becomes effective on July 1,

2-4  2001.

2-5    3.  Subsection 3 of section 1 of this act becomes effective on July 1,

2-6  2002.
