AN ACT relating to vehicles; requiring the department of motor vehicles and public safety
to provide for the issuance of endorsements to holders of noncommercial
licenses to tow certain vehicles; and providing other matters properly relating
thereto.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN
SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Chapter 483 of NRS is hereby amended by adding thereto a new
section to read as follows:
1-2 1. Provide
for the issuance of specific endorsements for
1-3 noncommercial
drivers’ licenses that entitle the holder of the
1-4 endorsement to
drive a vehicle, other than a commercial motor vehicle
1-5 subject to NRS
483.900 to 483.940, inclusive, while towing:
1-6 (a) A vehicle with a gross vehicle weight
rating of more than 10,000
1-7 pounds; or
1-8 (b) A combination of vehicles with a gross
combination weight rating
1-9 of less than
10,000 pounds.
1-10 2. Establish
such qualifications as it believes reasonably necessary to
1-11 provide for the
issuance of endorsements pursuant to this section.
1-12 Sec. 2. NRS
483.010 is hereby amended to read as follows:
1-13 483.010 The
provisions of NRS 483.010 to 483.630, inclusive, and
1-14 section 1 of this
act, may
be cited as the Uniform Motor Vehicle Drivers’
1-15 License Act.
Sec. 3. NRS 483.015 is hereby amended to read as follows:
1-16 483.015 Except as otherwise provided in NRS 483.330,
the provisions
1-17 of NRS 483.010 to 483.630, inclusive, and section 1 of this act apply
only
1-18 with respect to noncommercial drivers’ licenses.
