AN ACT making an appropriation to the Housing Authority of the City of Las Vegas for certain construction projects that will provide affordable housing for senior citizens; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN

SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

 

1-1    Section 1.  There is hereby appropriated from the state general fund to

1-2  the Housing Authority of the City of Las Vegas the sum of $2,950,000 to

1-3  provide affordable housing for senior citizens. The money must be

1-4  allocated as follows:

1-5  Construction at the 11th street site of 150 one- and two-

1-6  bedroom units with elevators, including architectural

1-7  and engineering fees                            $2,150,000

1-8  Water connection for 82 existing pads at the Rulon Earl

1-9  Mobile Manor and connection for 58 new pads to be

1-10  constructed........... $450,000

1-11  Provision of supportive services to cover staff, materials

1-12  and supplies for 5 years for senior citizens living at

1-13  these sites............. $350,000

1-14    Sec. 2.  Any remaining balance of the appropriation made by section 1

1-15  of this act must not be committed for expenditure after June 30, 2005, and

1-16  reverts to the state general fund as soon as all payments of money

1-17  committed have been made.

1-18    Sec. 3.  This act becomes effective upon passage and approval.
