AN ACT relating to county government; requiring a board of county commissioners to fix the terms of office of the chairman and vice chairman of the board of county commissioners; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN

SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

 

1-1    Section 1.  NRS 244.070 is hereby amended to read as follows:

1-2    244.070  1.  The county commissioners shall [elect] :

1-3    (a) Elect one of their number as chairman of the board and another of

1-4  their number as vice chairman of the board [.] ; and

1-5    (b) Fix the terms of office of the chairman and vice chairman of the

1-6  board.

1-7    2.  The county clerk shall be clerk of the board.
