AN ACT making an appropriation to the Interim Finance Committee for certain contractual services related to the financial reporting of school districts and charter schools; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN

SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

 

1-1    Section 1. 1.  There is hereby appropriated from the state general

1-2  fund to the Interim Finance Committee the sum of $304,127 to continue

1-3  the contractual services for a consultant to carry out a financial analysis

1-4  model program in:

1-5    (a) Each school district; and

1-6    (b) The charter schools selected for participation by the Interim Finance

1-7  Committee,

1-8  that is designed to track educational expenditures and revenues to

1-9  individual schools and to provide for uniformity in financial reporting

1-10  among school districts and charter schools.

1-11    2.  The Department of Education, each school district and each charter

1-12  school that is selected for participation by the Interim Finance Committee

1-13  shall provide such information as is necessary for the consultant to carry

1-14  out his duties pursuant to subsection 1.

1-15    3.  Any remaining balance of the appropriation made by subsection 1

1-16  must not be committed for expenditure after June 30, 2003, and reverts to

1-17  the state general fund as soon as all payments of money committed have

1-18  been made.

 

 


2-1    Sec. 2.  This act becomes effective upon passage and approval.
