AN ACT relating to the department of prisons; authorizing the department of prisons to request money from the contingency fund if the offenders’ store fund has insufficient money to provide for the needs of a therapeutic community; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN
SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
1-1 Section 1. Chapter 209 of NRS is hereby amended by adding thereto a
1-2 new section to read as follows:
1-3 If the director determines that there is an insufficient amount of
1-4 money in the offenders’ store fund to provide for the needs of a
1-5 therapeutic community, he may request an allocation from the
1-6 contingency fund pursuant to NRS 353.266, 353.268 and 353.269.
1-7 Sec. 2. NRS 209.4231 is hereby amended to read as follows:
1-8 209.4231 As used in NRS 209.4231 to 209.4244, inclusive, and
1-9 section 1 of this act, unless the context otherwise requires, the words and
1-10 terms defined in NRS 209.4232 to 209.4235, inclusive, have the meanings
1-11 ascribed to them in those sections.
1-12 Sec. 3. This act becomes effective on July 1, 2001.
