AN ACT relating to education; authorizing the Department of Education to provide money from the state distributive school account to school districts for the support of special counseling services for certain pupils enrolled in elementary schools; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN

SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

 

1-1    Section 1. The Department of Education is hereby authorized to

1-2  provide from the state distributive school account the sum of $50,000 to

1-3  each of the 17 school districts in each fiscal year of the 2001-2003

1-4  biennium to support special counseling services for pupils enrolled in

1-5  elementary schools who are at risk of failure.

1-6    Sec. 2.  This act becomes effective on July 1, 2001.
