AN ACT making a supplemental appropriation to the Department of Human Resources for unanticipated shortfalls and expenses at the Nevada Mental Health Institute and in the Division of Child and Family Services; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN

SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

 

1-1    Section 1. There is hereby appropriated from the state general fund to

1-2  the Department of Human Resources:

1-3    1.  For an unanticipated shortfall in money budgeted for expenses

1-4  relating to group homes, foster care, Medicare and subsidized adoptions at

1-5  the Division of Child and Family Services the sum of $2,743,867.

1-6    2.  For unanticipated additional utility expenses for the new hospital

1-7  and for the cost of medications at the Nevada Mental Health Institute the

1-8  sum of $435,950.

1-9  This appropriation is supplemental to that made by section 19 of chapter

1-10  571, Statutes of Nevada 1999, at pages 2981 and 2982, respectively.

1-11    Sec. 2.  This act becomes effective upon passage and approval.
