AN ACT making appropriations to the Department of Human Resources; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN
SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
1-1 Section 1. There is hereby appropriated from the state general fund to
1-2 the Department of Human Resources:
1-3 1. For an unanticipated shortfall in money budgeted for expenses
1-4 relating to group homes, foster care, Medicare and subsidized adoptions at
1-5 the Division of Child and Family Services the sum of $2,743,867.
1-6 2. For unanticipated additional utility expenses for the new hospital
1-7 and for the cost of medications at the Nevada Mental Health Institute the
1-8 sum of $435,950.
1-9 This appropriation is supplemental to that made by section 19 of chapter
1-10 571, Statutes of Nevada 1999, at pages 2981 and 2982, respectively.
1-11 Sec. 2. 1. There is hereby appropriated from the state general fund
1-12 to the Division of Mental Health and Developmental Services of the
1-13 Department of Human Resources the sum of $350,000 for repairs to the
1-14 Southern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services.
1-15 2. The State Public Works Board shall let a single contract for project
1-16 number 00-M25a, life safety upgrade, smoke barrier retrofit. The contract
1-17 is exempt from the provisions relating to bids in NRS 341.145 to 341.151,
1-18 inclusive.
1-19 3. Any remaining balance of the appropriation made by subsection 1
1-20 must not be committed for expenditure after June 30, 2002, and reverts to
1-21 the state general fund as soon as all payments of money committed have
1-22 been made.
2-1 Sec. 3. This act becomes effective upon passage and approval.
