AN ACT making an appropriation to Mineral County for expenses relating to the continued renovation of the Hawthorne National Guard Armory into a facility to house juvenile offenders; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN

SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

 

1-1    Section 1. There is hereby appropriated from the state general fund to

1-2  Mineral County the sum of $179,000 for expenses relating to the continued

1-3  renovation of the Hawthorne National Guard Armory into a facility to

1-4  house juvenile offenders, including:

1-5    1.  Upgrades to the heating system to allow for individual control of

1-6  room temperature;

1-7    2.  Upgrades to the gymnasium/multipurpose room to provide

1-8  insulation, which would enhance the energy efficiency for heating and

1-9  cooling purposes;

1-10    3.  Enclosure of a portion of the gymnasium/multipurpose room to

1-11  provide a classroom for computer training; and

1-12    4.  Installation of a closed circuit video and audio surveillance system

1-13  for security.

1-14    Sec. 2.  Any remaining balance of the appropriation made by section 1

1-15  of this act must not be committed for expenditure after June 30, 2003, and

1-16  reverts to the state general fund as soon as all payments of money

1-17  committed have been made.


2-1    Sec. 3.  This act becomes effective upon passage and approval.
