AN ACT making appropriations to Storey County for a historical facility in Virginia City and to the Comstock Cemetery Foundation, Inc., for the preservation of cemeteries within the Virginia City National Historic Landmark District; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN
SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
1-1 Section 1. 1. There is hereby appropriated from the state general
1-2 fund to Storey County the sum of $400,000 for the construction of a
1-3 historical facility in Virginia City to be used by the county and the state.
1-4 2. The appropriation made by subsection 1 is contingent upon the
1-5 provision by Storey County of land for the proposed facility and matching
1-6 funds. The State Controller shall not transfer the sum appropriated by
1-7 subsection 1 until the Interim Finance Committee has determined that these
1-8 conditions have been satisfied.
1-9 3. Any remaining balance of the appropriation made by subsection 1
1-10 must not be committed for expenditure after June 30, 2005, and reverts to
1-11 the state general fund as soon as all payments of money committed have
1-12 been made.
1-13 Sec. 2. 1. There is hereby appropriated from the state general fund
1-14 to the Comstock Cemetery Foundation, Inc., the sum of $250,000 for the
1-15 preservation of cemeteries within the Virginia City National Historic
1-16 Landmark District.
2-1 2. The appropriation made by subsection 1 may be used for the
2-2 preservation of cemeteries or to obtain matching funds to carry out this
2-3 purpose.
2-4 3. Any remaining balance of the appropriation made by subsection 1
2-5 must not be committed for expenditure after June 30, 2003, and reverts to
2-6 the state general fund as soon as all payments of money committed have
2-7 been made.
2-8 Sec. 3. This act becomes effective upon passage and approval.
