AN ACT making various appropriations; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN
SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
1-1 Section 1. There is hereby appropriated from the state general fund to
1-2 the University and Community College System of Nevada the sum of
1-3 $150,000 for the development of a curriculum necessary for students to
1-4 earn a bachelor’s degree in human services relating primarily to substance
1-5 abuse counseling.
1-6 Sec. 2. There is hereby appropriated from the state general fund to the
1-7 Nevada Historical Society the sum of $10,000 for the construction of a
1-8 marker on Mount Charleston that commemorates the crash of a USAF C-
1-9 54 aircraft in 1955.
1-10 Sec. 3. There is hereby appropriated from the state general fund for
1-11 imaging computer work stations consisting of a microscope, video
1-12 capturing equipment and other equipment necessary to gather evidence,
1-13 and evaluate and store it digitally the sum of $290,000 to be distributed
1-14 equally to:
1-15 1. The crime laboratory of the Washoe County Police Department.
1-16 2. The crime laboratory of the Clark County Metropolitan Police
1-17 Department.
1-18 3. The Investigation Division of the Department of Motor Vehicles
1-19 and Public Safety.
1-20 4. The University and Community College System of Nevada.
2-1 Sec. 4. There is hereby appropriated to the Clark County School
2-2 District the sum of $35,000 for establishment of a program to promote
2-3 literacy for elementary pupils after school.
2-4 Sec. 5. Any remaining balance of the appropriations made by sections
2-5 1 to 4, inclusive, of this act must not be committed for expenditure after
2-6 June 30, 2003, and reverts to the state general fund as soon as all payments
2-7 of money committed have been made.
2-8 Sec. 6. This act becomes effective upon passage and approval.
2-9 H
