AN ACT relating to health care; requiring the Center for Business and Economic Research at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, to publish a report relating to health care services for children who are not covered by health insurance; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN
SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
1-1 Section 1. 1. The Center for Business and Economic Research at the
1-2 University of Nevada, Las Vegas, shall compile information relating to the
1-3 provision of health care services for children in this state who are not
1-4 covered by health insurance and publish a report entitled Kids Count
1-5 Databook. The report must include:
1-6 (a) The name of each program that provides health care services to
1-7 children in this state and the number of children the program serves each
1-8 year;
1-9 (b) The number of children in this state who are eligible to receive
1-10 health care services from each program;
1-11 (c) The number of children who are eligible for, but do not receive
1-12 health care services, from each program; and
1-13 (d) Any other information the Center for Business and Economic
1-14 Research determines is appropriate.
2-1 2. The Center for Business and Economic Research at the University
2-2 of Nevada, Las Vegas, shall, not later than October 1, 2003, publish the
2-3 report described in subsection 1.
2-4 Sec. 2. 1. There is hereby appropriated from the state general fund
2-5 to the Center for Business and Economic Research at the University of
2-6 Nevada, Las Vegas, to carry out the provisions of section 1 of this act:
2-7 For the fiscal year 2001-2002.............. $150,000
2-8 For the fiscal year 2002-2003.............. $150,000
2-9 2. The sums appropriated by subsection 1 are available for either fiscal
2-10 year. Any balance of those sums must not be committed for expenditure
2-11 after June 30, 2003, and reverts to the state general fund as soon as all
2-12 payments of money committed have been made.
2-13 Sec. 3. This act becomes effective on July 1, 2001.
