AN ACT relating to state financial administration; requiring the Department of Personnel to increase the level of compensation of uniformed highway patrol positions; making appropriations to the State Board of Examiners; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN

SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

 

   Section 1. The Department of Personnel shall increase the level of

 compensation of all uniformed highway patrol positions by one grade on

 the classified employee compensation schedule effective July 1, 2001.

   Sec. 2.  1.  There is hereby appropriated from the state highway fund

 to the State Board of Examiners to increase the level of compensation of

 all uniformed highway patrol positions by one grade:

For the fiscal year 2001-2002.............. $1,098,809

For the fiscal year 2002-2003.............. $1,167,170

   2.  There is hereby appropriated from the state general fund to the State

 Board of Examiners to increase the level of compensation of all uniformed

 highway patrol positions by one grade:

For the fiscal year 2001-2002................... $17,075

For the fiscal year 2002-2003................... $18,331

   3.  Any balance of the money appropriated by subsections 1 and 2 for

 the fiscal year 2001-2002 does not revert to the fund from which it was

 appropriated, but must be carried forward to the next fiscal year.

   4.  Any balance of the money appropriated by subsections 1 and 2 must

 not be committed for expenditure after June 30, 2003, and reverts to the

 fund from which it was appropriated as soon as all payments of money

 committed have been made.

   Sec. 3.  This act becomes effective on July 1, 2001.
