THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN
SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
1-1 Section 1. The Department of Personnel shall increase the level of
1-2 compensation of all uniformed highway patrol positions by one grade on
1-3 the classified employee compensation schedule effective July 1, 2001.
1-4 Sec. 2. 1. There is hereby appropriated from the state highway fund
1-5 to the State Board of Examiners to increase the level of compensation of all
1-6 uniformed highway patrol positions by one grade:
1-7 For the fiscal year 2001-2002........... $1,098,809
1-8 For the fiscal year 2002-2003........... $1,167,170
1-9 2. There is hereby appropriated from the state general fund to the State
1-10 Board of Examiners to increase the level of compensation of all uniformed
1-11 highway patrol positions by one grade:
1-12 For the fiscal year 2001-2002............... $17,075
1-13 For the fiscal year 2002-2003............... $18,331
1-14 3. Any balance of the money appropriated by subsections 1 and 2 for
1-15 the fiscal year 2001-2002 does not revert to the fund from which it was
1-16 appropriated, but must be carried forward to the next fiscal year.
2-1 4. Any balance of the money appropriated by subsections 1 and 2 must
2-2 not be committed for expenditure after June 30, 2003, and reverts to the
2-3 fund from which it was appropriated as soon as all payments of money
2-4 committed have been made.
2-5 Sec. 3. This act becomes effective on July 1, 2001.
