Senate Concurrent RESOLUTION—Urging the Commission on Tourism and the Commission on Economic Development to promote Nevada as a state where choice in health care is available.
1-1 Whereas, Tourism and economic development are of critical
1-2 importance to Nevada and especially to its rural communities; and
1-3 Whereas, The industry of gaming in Nevada is losing tourism to the
1-4 many Indian casinos now proliferating the country; and
1-5 Whereas, Nevada would benefit from a new tourism base and a new
1-6 compassionate, family-oriented image; and
1-7 Whereas, Promoting this state as a national leader in alternative health
1-8 care choices would draw people to Nevada; and
1-9 Whereas, Many Americans are already seeking alternative health care
1-10 in Arizona, Canada, Mexico, Europe, Asia, the Philippines, the Caribbean
1-11 and various other locations throughout the world; and
1-12 Whereas, Existing health care laws in Nevada allow its residents and
1-13 visitors a variety of health care choices; now, therefore, be it
1-14 Resolved by the Senate of the State of Nevada, the Assembly
1-15 Concurring, That the Nevada Legislature urges the Commission on
1-16 Tourism and the Commission on Economic Development and all other
1-17 state, county or city tourism agencies to promote this state as a
1-18 compassionate, family-oriented state that offers alternative health care
1-19 choices; and be it further
1-20 Resolved, That the Secretary of the Senate prepare and transmit a copy
1-21 of this resolution to Lieutenant Governor Lorraine Hunt, Chairman of the
1-22 Commission on Tourism and Chairman of the Commission on Economic
1-23 Development.
