AN ACT making an appropriation to the City of Las Vegas for additional services to child care providers through the Child Care Improvement Grant Program; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN
SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
1-1 Section 1. 1. There is hereby appropriated from the State
1-2 General Fund to the City of Las Vegas the sum of $400,000 for the
1-3 continued support of the Child Care Improvement Grant Program
1-4 currently operated by the City of Las Vegas.
1-5 2. Any remaining balance of the appropriation made by
1-6 subsection 1 must not be committed for expenditure after June 30,
1-7 2005, and reverts to the State General Fund as soon as all payments
1-8 of money committed have been made.
1-9 3. The City of Las Vegas shall:
1-10 (a) Establish and maintain records concerning the use of the
1-11 money appropriated by subsection 1 which conform to generally
1-12 accepted accounting practices; and
1-13 (b) Provide a written report to the Director of the Legislative
1-14 Counsel Bureau for transmission to the Legislative Commission on
1-15 or before January 1, 2005, which clearly describes the expenditures
2-1 made from the money appropriated by subsection 1 and their benefit
2-2 to the State.
2-3 Sec. 2. This act becomes effective on July 1, 2003.
