AN ACT making an appropriation to the Department of Education for allocation to the Division of State Library and Archives of the Department of Cultural Affairs for expenses relating to obtaining licenses that would allow school, public and academic libraries to access research databases and other on-line resources appropriate for pupils and students within this state; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN

SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

 

1-1  Section 1. There is hereby appropriated from the State General

1-2  Fund to the Department of Education the sum of $500,000 for

1-3  allocation to the Division of State Library and Archives of the

1-4  Department of Cultural Affairs for expenses relating to obtaining

1-5  licenses that would allow school, public and academic libraries to

1-6  access research databases and other on-line resources appropriate

1-7  for pupils and students within this state.


2-1  Sec. 2.  Any remaining balance of the appropriation made by

2-2  section 1 of this act must not be committed for expenditure after

2-3  June 30, 2005, and reverts to the State General Fund as soon as all

2-4  payments of money committed have been made.

2-5  Sec. 3.  This act becomes effective upon passage and approval.
