AN ACT making an appropriation for the preparation of plans and federal and private funding requests for the conversion of a historic machine shop located in the City of Sparks into a regional science center, Amtrak station and tourist information center; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN
SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
1-1 Section 1. There is hereby appropriated from the State General
1-2 Fund to the City of Sparks the sum of $300,000 for the preparation
1-3 of environmental, engineering and business plans for the conversion
1-4 of the historic railroad machine shop located in the City of Sparks
1-5 into a regional science center, Amtrak station and tourist
1-6 information center.
1-7 Sec. 2. Any remaining balance of the appropriation made by
1-8 section 1 of this act must not be committed for expenditure after
1-9 June 30, 2005, and reverts to the State General Fund as soon as all
1-10 payments of money committed have been made.
1-11 Sec. 3. This act becomes effective on July 1, 2003.
