The Committee on Commerce and Laborwas called to order at 11:10 a.m., on Friday, February 14, 2003, behind the Bar of the Assembly by Chairman David Goldwater.

Chairman Goldwater asked for a Committee introduction of BDRs 53-465, 54-210, 58-486, 54-496, 53-437, 28-464, 57-554, and 58-494.

 

BDR 58-494:  Makes various changes concerning certain providers of utility service. (A.B. 139)

 


BDR 53-437Provides penalty for failure to comply with order to cease business operations at place of employment for failure to maintain or provide industrial insurance. (A.B. 140)

 

BDR 28-464:  Makes various changes concerning enforcement of provisions requiring payment of prevailing rate of wages on public works.  (A.B. 141)

 

BDR 57-554:  Revises rate of interest required for late payments of certain taxes. (A.B. 142)

 

BDR 53-465:  Makes various changes to labor laws and powers and duties of Labor Commissioner. (A.B. 143)

 

BDR 54-210:  Prohibits employer of pharmacist from disciplining pharmacist for refusing to fill or refill prescription under certain circumstances.  (A.B. 144)

 

BDR 58-486:  Revises procedure for distribution of assessments collected on behalf of Consumer’s Advocate of Bureau of Consumer Protection in Office of Attorney General. (A.B. 145)

 

 BDR 54-496:  Revises requirements for licensure as professional engineer or land surveyor. (A.B. 146)
