*****

Chairman Townsend introduced the committee staff, committee secretaries, and

the committee manager.

Chairman Townsend presented the subcommittee sheet and instructed each committee member to choose a chairmanship of one subcommittee and choose two others of which to be a member. The Vice Chairman was given first choice and the other committee members would choose according to seniority. The committee has jurisdiction over seven Nevada Revised Statutes Titles. Subcommittees are formed for each title.

Chairman Townsend explained the importance of common courtesies that should occur in all committee meetings. He discussed the format for bills and amendments to be submitted to the committee. He said the meeting agendas also note the formatting requirements.

Chairman Townsend cited and explained key deadline dates. He noted the bills addressing construction defects and homeowners’ associations, which the Senate Committee on Commerce and Labor worked on last session. These bills have been submitted to the Assembly Committee on Commerce and Labor for consideration, since the issues were not heard there by the end of the last session.

Chairman Townsend introduced the committee members and welcomed them to the committee.

There being no further business, Chairman Townsend adjourned the meeting at 8:35 a.m.
